It is funny how each day of our lives can result in a different way we can feel about ourselves. It can seem when a person gets depressed that they will never rise up above their emotional mess. I have been depressed before and can tell you honestly, that depression stays around as long as you wish it to be a house guest in your heart and mind.
Now I know that there are different reasons for depression but I am talking about the kind that we cause by our words or actions. You know the consequences we have to face and the emotional downfall that follows us because we tend to ignore the fact that what we said or did was a mistake. You know what I mean?

When people are depress they may hide behind doors, refuse to answer telephones or venture out into the world around them because they are afraid that someone will know that they made a mistake. They walk about with their heads low and think that every question they are being asked is because the one asking “knows” something. Or if you give any kind of “eye contact,” guilt will be lighting up like a neon light for all to see. We can be our own worst enemy and cause our own panic attacks if we choose to ignore owning up to our errors.
After a while, we may come to terms with our mistakes, face the consequences and then breathe a little bit easier. We might tell someone what we have done and it frees our souls of the weight we have been carrying around while depressed.

Now, I have been making mistakes all of my life, over 60 decades and you think I would have learned by now. I won’t keep you guessing: NOPE I HAVE NOT! But being honest with myself, laughing at my mistakes (unless too serious) helps and then I try to do the best to move forward. After all, I am human like everyone else. (This was my parents’ mistake! But a mistake I am glad they made!)
What about you? When you are depressed because of something you had done wrong, a mistake, how do you convince yourself that it is okay to face the consequences and then try again? Share your thoughts with us…Jeanne Claire Probst
When our words or actions have us spinning in a cesspool mess,
Yeah, we can get depressed.
It is hard to know what way to turn,
Mistakes seem to be all we make, when will we learn?
At times it seems we make progress
And other times we regress
Even though we try to clean up our act
We tend to mess up again…this is a fact!
So really, there is no need to get depressed,
Keep trying is all I can suggest,
Because if you don’t keep trying to do your best
What will come next is anyone’s guess.
Then you are right back where you started from,
At the beginning where it was wrong what you have done,
So why not use your energy to change the results of your wrong,
And allow depression to pack its suitcase and from your heart and mind, move along.
