Thought and Poem – November 17, 2014
There have been times when I have gone to a shopping mall and after getting my packages out of my cart and into the trunk of my car, I take a few minutes and just sit…and rest a bit while watch the people and the cars as they pass me by.
I am not one of those types of people who stalk others or anything like this, but sometimes I like to sit and watch to see how other people live…how they manage. And, sometimes I can tell what kind of life they do live by watching them interact with those who come with them in their cars, how they dress, how they do their hair, the kind of cell phones they use and if they are in a hurry or just filling some time in their day.

I can see that for some they may carry a heavy load, some faces void of joy, others smiling from ear to ear and it makes you wonder how they can be so “happy?” They either are on some kind of spirit lifting medication…prescribed that is…or they take medication because they sport a grin from ear to ear…whatever right?
Anyhow, for those who I can tell are burdened down in some way, I pray that they will make it through whatever it is they are facing and also through the day. For those who have that grin from ear to ear…well all I can say is...their day will come!

What about you? Do you ever find yourself mesmerized by the crowd of people that pass you by when you are out and about? Share your thoughts with us…Jeanne Claire Probst
Alone in a Crowd?
I feel some days, that I am standing alone in a crowd,
Everyone is busy doing their own thing and moving along,
No one paying any attention to me, well at least not right now,
And even though there are many people around me, I am all alone somehow.?
However can this be?
There are so many people around me?
Each is going their own way;
So how can it be, that no one noticed my presence today?
It find it hard to accept this to be a true fact in life,
That no one gives you a smile or acknowledges your existence; somehow it doesn’t seem right.
The world seems ever more, so cold to me,
People are void if joy; not loving, some are just breathing.
This is very evident when my eyes meet theirs,
Their eyes are empty , blocking out the ability to see what is going on around them; that all they can do is stare.
Still you offer a warm smile as you pass them by,
They don’t respond; you wonder why?
Why did they not return your smile?
You ponder on this thought for a little.
How so many people can be together in a crowd,
Yet we all stand-alone somehow?
Even when you try to figure out why there is so much emptiness amidst the people in a crowd,
People are just too busy, to engage with one another, they offer no sounds.
All is quiet as we pass by each other; life moves along,
It feels that even though I am in the crowd, I standing alone and it feels so wrong.
