Thought and Poem – August 18, 2014
Hatred has been around the human family for a very long time. History books and books in general are full of resulting consequences that come from hating something or someone. On a worldwide scale, wars have been fought; freedom is succumbing to oppression, whether by bullying or some other form of abuse, and add to this deprivation and divorce, and what we have is a major disaster coming to a head.
Most of the pains cause by what has resulted in the ongoing record that man has accumulated for himself are caused because someone wants to retaliate for something that was done to them. Doesn’t make sense does it? Pain betting more pain?
What ever happened to “loving thy neighbor?” “Treating others as you would want to be treated?” Or, make “peace not war?” Time might be moving ahead, technology may be making life easier for many, we may be able to put man in space, but why have we not put an end to the pain and suffering created because of hatred? We know the answer to these questions….jealousy, greed, anger…etc.

Let’s talk about “solutions.” What happened to “turning the other cheek,” “walking away,” “not letting an evil word be mentioned among you,” or other words of wisdom such as these? Think about it, someone has to fight back if there is going to be a war…but what if we all said “NO?” What if we all showed our love for one another by listening to each other and helping in any way that we can? Where would hatred be then?
What about you? What do you think we could gain, if we all worked to show by our words and actions that we care for one another? Share your thoughts with us…Jeanne Claire Probst

Do You Have Something Special?
When someone makes your day so sweet, be sure to let them know,
That their loving act of kindness helped your faith in mankind to grow.
Not often does someone do something special to make us have such a joyous day,
So when a loving act is shown to you, do not hold back from letting all know that you are feeling special today.
I figure it wouldn’t take much to turn this cold world around,
Where only peace and security would abound,
Because really no matter what nation you live in or what language you choose to speak,
Human kindness is what we all desire; it is what we all seek.
So could you help make the world a better place to live?
To others do you have something to give?
It just takes only one person for others to follow the example they set,
And we need to do so now, so that in knowing how to love one another…we might not forget.
