I am a Star!

Thought and Poem – August 23, 2014

Most people truly do want to find happiness and we spend all the days of our lives reaching for that something that will make us shine and stand out...and in the end…make us happy. We want everyone to be happy too don’t we?

Whether we write books, poetry, can throw a “fast” ball, paint, act or excel in some kind of gift we have been given, we all want to be a star! There is no limit to how many things we can accomplish in our life and as we grow, the things we learn can lead to helping us be that happy person we want to be.

Have you ever wondered what really determines if a person will know the right roads to take that will lead to finding this happiness? And, in the end what will it mean to the individuals if they attain it? Even if we have to make some kind of change, how does a person know that these changes will lead to a life they wish to have and that others think they were meant to have?

How many times in your lifetime, have you made suggested changes that people around you feel will make you a better person or heighten your opportunity to get more happiness out of your life? You change your hair styles, your clothing, the way you think and even sometimes what you believe. But, not always do the end results turn out the way you want them to be. People may like your changes, but to you…well…these do not depict the “real” you and you end up void of the happiness you were looking for in life.

It wasn’t until I was about forty years old, did I realize that I was not truly happy. I had done what I was told to do, to be and never got to be “me.” Taking the bull by the horn, I ventured done new paths that allowed myself to dream my dreams, set my course and to find my place among the stars…people who get to be who they were meant to be. It is never too late to learn new things, visit new places or just make the changes you want to make. All of us can shine…take a look at the stars on a dark night…they all twinkle each in their own way. You can too.

What about you. How do you allow someone to see who you really are, and how do you feel when they learn to love you for the shining star you became? Share your thoughts with us...Jeanne Claire Probst

I am a Star!

I never got to be the star of a school play,

But, I always thought I would be a star one day.

I got thinking I was the star of my own life’s show,

I am now writing the plot and directing how the outcome of this show will go.

I will take the center stage every day,

And I will have the opportunity to make it what I may.

I will give it my best shot as I do each scene;

I will be in full control of what others see and what goes on the “big screen.”

I have been playing this part for many years now,

And I have managed to make it through the rough parts in the “life play” somehow.

Others who have tried to take my part in the play away have not won,

Only I can play the part….because of “me”…there is only one!
