Thought and Poem – August 24, 2014
As humans, we are intelligent enough to know when we have reached our limits, and need to have some time alone. I know when I get to this point, and I am sure you do too. You just know that if you don’t get away or do something for yourself you are going to explode.
The funny thing about this, is those around us know we need this time too. Yet, as soon as we get settled and start to unwind or relax…well, others around us in our worlds do not really know what “me time, or alone time” means as they always seem to want to join us in our quite time moments. At these times, it feels like our worlds are going to collide.
So, to get any “alone time,” we have to take control…and conquer the situation and not let it get out of hand. It doesn’t mean we don’t love those around us, it just means that we need to regroup ourselves, so that we can be there for others and continue to do all we need to do.

FYI…quite time should not be spent on the couch….dogs, cats, hubbies and children have a way of finding you as soon as you turn the first page of the book you want to start reading. Alone time should not be spent in the bath water with bubbles, and candles and your head on a water pillow against the back of the tub…someone always has to use the bathroom “right now,” and you have to get out of the water, dress or cover yourself and leave the bathroom…spoiling the moment. But, if you use a little imagination, you will eventually outsmart those around you and you will find that place where you can have a few minutes to regroup by yourself!
What about you? How do you let others know that you need some alone time and what do you say so that they truly understand your needs? Share your thoughts with us…Jeanne Claire Probst

Conquering Our “Worlds!”
Conquering our worlds around us one day at a time,
Should be as easy as reciting a nursery rhyme.
Truly, it is really not as difficult as many people may think,
Still we should learn what to do, so that our “worlds” never go instinct.
Now “worlds” can be described, as anything around us that stifles who we are, or where we want to go,
Or is can be what it feels like when you need to let out steam, but before you explode, you need to let those around you know.
Freely express yourself when your “world” is stuck and cannot move,
And never let other people’s “worlds” push you out of the solar system’s groove.
There are times we need to have some “me time” but it never seems like you can be alone,
You have a crowd around your “world” as soon as you pour a cup of relaxing tea or pick up your phone.
There can be a possible collision with other “worlds” when you try to sit in a corner and read a book,
But all you have to do to avoid this tragedy is give others that leave me alone “look.”
To conquer our “worlds,” we have to make it our aim,
To know all the rules of the galaxies around us, so we all can maintain.
Keep our places and distance if need be,
Turn when you should turn and spin when you are supposed to spin, then all the “worlds” together will know their place and interact peacefully.
