Thought and Poem – September 4, 2014
Is it important to you to know how others feel about you? What they say about you when speaking to others? It should. I am not talking about whether they “like’ you or not, but how they “view” you as a person. Do they see you as a “cold” person who never offers a helping hand to those around them that may have a need, the kind that stays to themselves and doesn’t share with others qualities or skills they might possess that can make a difference in someone else’s life?
Or, do they see you as a “loving” person who is always there ready to do whatever has to be done to help in the time of need? Do they already know you as the type of person that is willing to pass down to others, without boasting, skills they might have that can help promote a better quality of life for someone?
When family, friends, co-workers, classmates and those in the community you live in mention your “name” what do you think you are known best for? Being a “cold fish,” or having a “warm” heart?

A lot of times those we are around during the course of any given day don’t really have a chance to truly “know” us, but without even uttering a word, people pretty much have insight to the type of person they think we may be by our behavior and actions we exhibit when around others. Especially this can be true when a friend or even a stranger has an immediate need. Would we be willing to share our love…or would we display a heart of stone?
What about you? Do you think it is important how others feel about your behavior or actions? Share your thoughts with us…Jeanne Claire Probst

What If The Shoe Was On The Other Foot?
No one should have to cry alone,
When their heart is drowning from their wounds,
As humans, we need to reach out when we can,
And help those who hurt, to smile again.
Where are your arms when someone is in need?
When tears of others your eyes can see?
How can so many just close their eyes?
Or turn their faces to the other side.
Mankind still has so much to learn,
And we better get it together so we can experience the happiness we all yearn,
Because unless we open our hearts and offer compassion and love,
We will not be blessed by the “Man” above.
Love begets love and on this we all thrive,
Those feeling that they are alone, only thoughts of loneliness and sadness stay fresh on their minds.
Think how you would feel if the shoe was on the other foot,
And remember when you see someone’s tears; find the strength to take a deeper look.
