We live in a world where we find many people are impatient! Most of the things we want out of life, we wanted two days ago and we did not like having to wait! There have been times in my life where I didn’t want to wait either to see how something I was going to be involved in would turn out. We want to succeed is everything we do or at least look as if we knew what we were doing while we were doing “it.” I will admit I have been guilty most of my life!I don’t like surprises. I want to know straight up how something I do tomorrow is going to turn out. I can’t handle anymore anxieties in life. So if I could, I would be one of those people that would want to know everything about what tomorrow will send my way. This way I could decide ahead of time if I wanted to get out of bed, leave town, or put on a good show!We know when we bake a cake, even if we use the same recipe each time we make it, it will come out close to how it looks in the picture on the box. That is, unless we burn it by over baking it, or we drop it on the floor when removing it from the oven. But however it turns out when we make the cake tomorrow, we know that it will not be a major life changing experience. But if we were to have a job interview, or if we were starting a new job, or even enrolling in a course of some kind, it would be natural to want to know how things will turn out. Yet, no matter how impatient we are, we will have to wait until tomorrow to find out how things turn out for us. It would be nice to know if we got the job after the interview, if we impressed our boss on our first workday on a new job, or if we passed a course we were taking. For the most part...it is not happening! We will have to wait. When thinking about how we want to know everything about tomorrow yesterday, if this were to happen, we would not be able to brace ourselves for what we don’t know is coming our way. How would we be able to learn about courage and faith? Where would we find our strengths? I think not knowing about tomorrow’s surprises is the best way to go.What about you? Would you want to know about tomorrow ahead of time? Or, would you prefer to be surprised and face each new day as they come? Share your thoughts with us...Jeanne Claire Probst
Tomorrows
Have you ever taken the time to think…
About what tomorrow will bring?
Will there be birds for us to see flying in the sky?
Will we see fish in the rivers as the waters rush by?
I would like to know what tomorrow will bring.
And it would be nice to be forewarned about what I will be doing.
But, then there could be no surprises in store for me,
If I were to know everything about what tomorrow will bring.
Even though I don’t like surprises I guess I can wait.
I know there will be lessons to learn that will help me to build more faith.
And I expect that along with the good times there will be some mistakes,
But to endure these days, I will need to do whatever it will take.
I will find the strength to walk the steps I need to walk,
I will find the courage to say the right words when I need to talk.
I will build a reserve of hope that I will succeed to some extent in everything I do,
I will be patient and wait for my tomorrows to come and welcome each day as they do.
