What is love?

Thought and Poem – October 9, 2014

So often, we take for granted all the things other people do for us, especially our family members and friends. We expect certain privileges because we are related or close. A lot of the times we show kindness to those who we are close to is because this is what we do when we cherish others…we show them love.

Still there are times we don’t take the time to think about what each individual family member may be enduring when we are around them and because they are family, we may not consider their needs over ours. If we have something we want them to do for us…we might at times overlook the fact that they have their own needs that must come first. Cherishing what they mean to us and what they have taught us often times will help us to let them know we care about them and even if only with just a few kind words we think that could change the way they may be feeling today, or about something that is adding pressure and weight on their shoulders.

Remembering to consider each other’s feelings and priorities can help to go a long way to keeping peaceful relationships in the family and allow our love for each other to grow…something we may cherish for a long time…even forever.

What about you? In what ways do you show those you cherish that you love them and that they are important to you? Share your thoughts with us…Jeanne Claire Probst

What is Love?

Love is something we are taught

Love is something we can most of the time express with our thoughts.

Love is also something we can feel and show others how we care

Love reminds us that someone will always be there.

When there is a need…

When we disagree…

When we are forgiving…

When to us others are giving…

When we make mistakes and find the ways to make it right…

When we are having a spat love moves settle it before the night…

To express what love is, I know there is more

That you can add to my list I know for sure.

Love is not something that can be bought although we may appreciate the gift

Actions and words, behaviors and efforts all add up to more than this.

Love is not something to be taken and made a bad name

Love is something we can destroy by playing “mind” games.

Love is so special and we all humans thrive on this need

So let’s to others be more loving…please.
