October 22, 2014 – Thought and Poem
It seems the world is moving at a fast pace and that we are getting older without our even knowing. How did this happen?
Even if and when we get delusional about how we got so “old,” the reality is no matter how many facelifts you get, how many years you spend at the “spa” getting your skin tanned, nails painted and unwanted hairs plucked…you will still get older. This doesn’t seem fair does it?

Then to add to this unfairness, when we accept that we have aged and bow to the aches and pains that come with it, we need help to get through our every day. For most of us, a coffee or two each day does the trick, but unfortunately for the rest of us…we need some kind of “pill” to help us reduce symptoms we might be having because we aged so we can attempt to take part in life
I have my daily routine down to a science. First I sit at the edge of my bed with my feet planted on the floor. Next I stand and when my feet remember their job, I walk over to my desk. From there I put my “essentials” on, wash up or shower and then I get dressed. Then back in my room, I sit at my desk and look at the calendar to see what day it is, take any pills I need to take and I head to the top of the stairs. On a good day I can do all this in about 30 minutes.

What I have to do next takes a miracle to accomplish…getting down the stairs. But, I have a strong desire to succeed and I eventually do get to that bottom step. After all, can’t start the day without a cup of coffee can I?
What about you? How old were you before you realized “old” caught up with you? Share your thoughts with us…Jeanne Claire Probst
Stop the World...
Can we stop the world; I want to get off,
I just feel I’ve had enough to deal with and I want it all to stop!
It ceases to amaze me how many ways aggravations can come into your life,
And it makes it hard to want to get up and face the day but you still do and give it your best try if you might.
So okay, I am up today,
Put the coffee on, I am on my way!
Add a little something, if you know what I mean
As I am aiming to give life another shot and a “little” help I may need.
Pop open the vitamins, the antibiotics, the pains med and whatever other pills I have to take,
And I hope that from whatever I suffer these will help relieve the symptoms and give me a break.
I won’t get delusional but to dream for better days I can wish,
As every day I awaken, I have “something” I have to deal with and I am getting sick of this.
So, if you think I am going to spoil your day?
Then from me you best stay away.
Because today morning arrived way too soon and I knew it was not going to be a good day.
So stay away until I let you know the coast is clear and that I am feeling okay!
