Thought and Poem β October 30, 2014
No matter how old we get and how many more years we have to live, learning about ourselves is a large part of our life. One of the first things we need to learn right from the start of our lives is that we canβt change our yesterdays. Many of us wish we could go back, with all that we have learned over the years and change a few things about what we have done or achieved. Moral: Do it right the first time or at least give it your best shotβ¦reduces guilt.
The second thing we need to learn is to live today in a way that we wonβt regret when it becomes one of our βyesterdays.β Even if we have failed to accomplish something to perfection, this will bring us to the third thing we need to learnβ¦.tomorrow is another day. Every tomorrow we get allows us another chance to work things out that we learn about ourselves that we want to improve.

Yesterday, Today, Tomorrow

What I learn about yesterday is I canβt change a thing,
Whether I feel it was good or bad...nothing.
What I learned about yesterday was that I tried my best,
Did what I could and pushed aside the rest.
What I want to learn about today,
Is how I can find a way,
To do everything that comes my way,
Better than I did yesterday.
I want to think before I speak
Listen better when others speak to me,
I want to act out kindness; be forgiving,
I want to be humble when I need to be.
I will try not to make yesterdayβs mistakes again today,
And if I do I will tell myself not to despair as I am apt to get it right someday,
Because I will have all my tomorrows to try again,
When the sun comes up a new day will begin.
