Time to make the blankets for Girl Scout Troop
Girl Scout Troop 11594 is working on their Bronze Award and is collecting no-sew blankets for Project Linus through the end of February.

Winter is the best time to make a blanket and seven Girl Scouts are collecting them as part of their Bronze Award project. Their goal is to collect 235 by the end of February. The blankets will be donated to the pediatric wing at UMass Medical in Worcester as part of Project Linus.
Project Linus is an organization which provides handmade blankets to children who are seriously ill, traumatized or otherwise in need of the extra comfort. Blankets should be fragrance free, as any strong odors from detergents or smoke may cause problems for some of the kids.
The fifth grade girls are students at Fannie E. Proctor School (26 Jefferson Street) and Marion E. Zeh School (33 Howard Street). Blanket donations are being accepted at both school locations and blanket pick up can also be arranged by calling 508-254-2217.

The troop is led by leaders Sherry Clark, Anne Marie Farricy and Anne Marie Rajguru.
No-sew blanket kits can be purchased at craft stores. If you do not have the time to actually make the blanket but wish to donate a kit, the girls will do the work for you.
