Top 5 Best Places to Volunteer
These places need your enthusiasm, skills and a little bit of your time this holiday season.

You want to help someone, somewhere, somehow. If you're not sure where to start, here are some suggestions right here in town.
1) The Pantry needs volunteers to help with staffing, stocking, shopping and transporting foodstuffs and paper goods to help families have enough to eat this holiday season. For more information, email info@NFPantry.org, call 508-393-6897 or complete an online application here. Voicemail and email are checked every few days.
2) Northborough Helping Hands Association, Inc. This volunteer-run organization
assists residents of Northborough in three ways: loaning medical equipment,
getting clothing, meals, etc. to families and other residents in need through community donations and providing emergency funds. This document details more information about the program. Contact Youth and Family Services at 508-393-5020 and someone there will put you in touch with the right person at Helping Hands who coordinates volunteer opportunities or visit the website.

3) Baypath Humane Society Are you an animal lover? Baypath is located in Hopkinton, but serves the Northborough community. This organization is committed to the health, welfare and adoption of dogs and cats. When you visit the website, click on the volunteer tab to find out what is needed, call 508- 435-6938 or fill out an application here.
4) Horizons for Homeless Children The program is in need for volunteers to play with children living in homeless shelters throughout Central Massachusetts. The next training is in nearby Worcester on Dec. 7 and 8. 5) Northborough Free Library You've heard of the Elf on a Shelf? The library needs shelving elves! These are volunteers who make sure the library books are in the correct Dewey Decimal or alphabetical order and look tidy. Contact Jean Langley (adult section), Pat Link (children’s section), or Sandy Stafford (teen section) at 508-393-5025. That's not all though. Visit the website and click on the volunteer tab. There are countless ongoing and occasional projects happening here! There's really something for everyone.
