The Waves of the Sea...

Thought and Poem – April 10, 2015

If you have been to the ocean, you will understand it when I say that memories of our trips to the ocean will be forever be etched in our minds. And, at times we will recapture these memories when we look at pictures that have been painted by artist of various abilities.

No matter how much time we take to we study these pictures, work of arts, only the heart of the artist can really understand what is really being captured with each stroke of the paintbrush. Were they thinking calm, or peacefulness, or perhaps turbulence when they painted their waves? We really will never truly know

Our lives can sometimes be like the waves of the sea. Calm and peaceful and yet at times the challenges we face may make the waves a little more powerful and turbulent. But even though the ocean’s waves have their rough moments, when we think of the waves of the seas, we think of peace.

The Waves of the Sea

The waves of the sea

Are comforting

And truly beautiful at the same time,

Artist put on canvas what they see with their eyes and mind.

There have been so many paintings,

Each capturing,

The many colors these waves display,

As they come toward the land and when they move away.

You can sit on the beach,

And listen, as the waves do speak;

When the strong waves crash against the rocks,

And when softer waves splash lightly nearby the shore, listen as you can hear the waves talk.

An artist can recreated the waves with their peaks high or low,

And the breathtaking power behind the waves an artist’s paintbrush can show.

A good artist can make you feel the peacefulness behind each stroke,

And make the waves come alive, the way they were seen; as only an artist can know.
