How the energizer bunny keeps going and going and going...

Hordon Health

After a long, challenging Fall semester, jam packed with schoolwork, HordoN HEALTH apprenticeship commitments, and a hugely successful NEWHBA season, a day on the mountain was just what I needed. From an early age, ski trips have been a coveted experience for me. To me, they are the perfect blend of relaxed conversation with the friends that I go with or a fellow mountain-goer on the chair lift, and a freedom from routine. It’s not that I need an escape, though. I love what I do; the challenges, the successes and failures, the time spent, and the experiences I have on a daily basis, school, apprenticing, and community service. I love it because I have opportunities to step away from it, recharge, and step back into each experience like it was my first all over again. Snapping on the skis, journeying away from the ground, and cruising down the trails is like plugging into a power source for me. I don’t need to over-think life; I just let the power of the mountain run through me. And when it’s time to unclip and make the journey back home, I’m as good as new.To all who miss the feeling of excitement and love for what you do, I suggest “plugging in” every now and then, whether it be on the slopes, on a hike, on a surfboard, alone in the woods with a book, or any other activity that’s easily accessible and gives you just a quick moment to exhale a nice long “ahhhh”.
