St. John School Receives American Flag from Dr. David King
Dr. David King paid a visit to St. John School this past week to present the school with an American flag that he carried with him while on duty in Afghanistan.
Dr. David King paid a visit to St. John School this past week to present the school with an American flag that he carried with him while on duty in Afghanistan. Grade 1 and 2 sang “Prayer of St. Francis”. Dr. & Mrs. King’s daughter, Abigail, is a student in Grade 1.
Dr. King is currently a trauma surgeon at Mass General Hospital and was instrumental in saving the lives of many of the Boston Marathon bombing victims. He completed the marathon and then headed over to MGH help the victims and tend to patients.
The plaque on the American flag reads:
Be it known, that this flag of the United States of America, was flown in the face of the enemy by U.S. Special Operations Forces/1982 Forward Surgical Team, defending freedom, liberty and justice at FOB Shank, Afghanistan on the 10th anniversary of the September 11th attack on September 11, 2011.
