Boston Pride Kicks off Pride Week 2015 with annual Flag Raising Ceremony

WHAT: Boston Pride Kicks off Pride Week 2015 with its annual Flag Raising Ceremony on Friday, June 5th at noon. Sponsored by Mayor Martin J. Walsh, the Flag Raising at City Hall is the first official event of Pride Week. This year Boston Pride is celebrating their 45 years of advocacy with the theme “45th Anniversary: #WickedProud” to celebrate the LGBT community’s four-plus decades of fighting for inclusiveness, diversity and equality. The flag raising will also recognize this year’s Grand Marshals: Erica Kay-Webster, David V. Bermudez, and Samuel Brinton and Parade Marshals: Ellyn Ruthstrom and Woody Glenn.

The Flag Raising Ceremony will include a brief speaking program followed by the raising of the rainbow Pride flag over City Hall.
