Dependable Cleaners Owner Honored With Prestigious Industry Award

(Quincy, Mass. – May 26, 2015) – Dependable Cleaners, Boston’s leading provider of convenient and exceptional garment care, is pleased to announce that owner Donald C. Fawcett has been honored by the Drycleaning & Laundry Institute (DLI) with its highest honor – the Diamond Achievement Award. Fawcett was presented with the award at The Clean Show this past April in Atlanta, Georgia.

DLI’s Diamond Achievement Award recognizes excellence across all aspects of the cleaning industry and has only been awarded a handful of times in the Institute’s 107-year history. Over the past 50 years, Fawcett served as Director, President and Chairman of DLI as well as Chairman of the industry’s Varsity group, member of its International Drycleaners Congress and held various positions in the NorthEast Fabicare Association.

“I am honored to receive the Diamond Achievement Award from the Drycleaning & Laundry Institute,” said Donald C. Fawcett. “I have worked in the dry cleaning industry for over 50 years and receiving this award from our industry’s top organization means a great deal to me.”

Fawcett is still involved in the operation of Dependable Cleaners but his daughter, Christa Hagearty, serves as president and CEO overseeing all of its 16 dry cleaning stores and delivery service. Fawcett began his career as a Captain in the U.S. Army and served for two years in Germany. Before that he earned an Engineering Management degree from Norwich University in 1948.
