Bid adieu to one of Boston’s most iconic establishments on Thursday, September 13th at 12:30pm with a traditional Irish wake. Pay homage to The Purple Shamrock’s thirty-two years of business with a march through Quincy Market, Faneuil Hall, and down Congress Street. An empty casket, trailed by bag pipers and a small group of people, will parade its way to a final resting place inside the Purple Shamrock where, food, music and stout will flow freely. Prayer cards will be distributed, and guests will be able to pay their respects and sign a purple wake guestbook as they arrive. Limited edition “Last Call” Purple Shamrock T-shirts will also be available for purchase.
