Faneuil Hall Marketplace Celebrates First Night With THE ICE Celebration

What: Faneuil Hall Marketplace, in partnership with 2015 First Night Boston and the Mayor’s Holiday Spectacular, will be hosting THE ICE at Faneuil Hall on New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day. The celebration will feature interactive ice sculptures and musical performances to help ring in the New Year.

Faneuil Hall Marketplace will have four ice sculptures placed throughout the property. Guests can sit on the interactive giant Ice Sleigh, or pose with some of their favoriteFrozen characters including Olaf the snowman and Sven the reindeer. The popular Ice Throne will be back again this year for guests to sit and take photos in front of the almost 90 ft. beautifully lit tree. There will also be a “2015 Ice Display” to mark the New Year. Faneuil Hall’s ice sculptures are part of the Winter on the Waterfront Ice Sculpture Stroll which features festive ice sculptures at eight sites around the city.

Local musicians and street performers will be playing holiday music near the ice sculptures. Gregg Daniels and the team from Mix 104.1 will be at the Marketplace in the early afternoon to get the holiday crowd excited for 2015.

Outdoor events for First Night are free, and admission to indoor events will require a First Night Button. The First Night Button is $10 and can be purchased at the ArtsBoston BosTix booth next to Historic Faneuil Hall.

In addition, visitors will also enjoy Faneuil Hall Marketplace’s holiday tree and Blink!, a state-of-the-art light and sound extravaganza with more than 350,000 LED lights that dance seamlessly to holiday music. Blink! is featured throughout the marketplace every thirty minutes from 4:30 to 10pm each night throughout the holiday season until January 4th .
