Faneuil Hall Marketplace Holiday Tree Arrival With Blue Man Group

Faneuil Hall Tree Lighting Spectacular in partnership with CBS Boston on November 21, 2015.

Blue Man Group was on hand for the arrival of the Faneuil Hall Marketplace Holiday Tree. The 80+foot Norwegian Spruce traveled to Boston on a flatbed truck from Honesdale, PA. Three from Blue Man Group (one dressed as a lumberjack) used ropes to help figuratively “pull” the tree from the truck. The Blue Man Group will be back at Faneuil Hall Marketplace on Saturday, Nov. 21 when they will perform as part of the hour-long Faneuil Hall Marketplace Tree Lighting Spectacular, in partnership with WBZ-TV/CBS Boston. The show will be televised live from 7 – 8 p.m. and also include appearances by Keith Lockhart conducting the Boston Children’s Choir, the Boston Gay Men’s Chorus, Boston Ballet The Nutcracker, and Governor Charlie Baker and his wife Lauren who will help “flip the switch” on the tree’s 30,000 lights and the property’s 350,000 lights. The show includes the kickoff of the New England Patriots Toy Drive as Faneuil Hall Marketplace is a drop off location for the toy drive. The event on Nov. 21 also signals the start of Blink!, the 6-week sound and light show where 350,000 LED lights around the property blink to the music of the Holiday Pops. Blink! occurs daily, starting Nov. 22, from 4:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. until Jan. 3, 2016. For more information: www.faneuilhallmarketplace.com limit
