In this lecture, Oliver Tostmann will discuss the provenance, history, and context of this painting, one of the central works in the Donatello, Michelangelo, Cellini: Sculptors’ Drawings from Renaissance Italy exhibition.
A series of related public programs will complement the Donatello, Michelangelo, Cellini: Sculptors’ Drawings from Renaissance Italy exhibition, and will present new findings and insights from scholars of history and art history, conservators, and artists.
