LOCAL BOSTONIANS PUT THEIR ARTISTIC SKILL TO THE TEST AT SANTANDER'S COLORFUL MONDAYS PAINTING PARTY

LOCAL BOSTONIANS PUT THEIR ARTISTIC SKILL TO THE TEST AT SANTANDER'S COLORFUL MONDAYS PAINTING PARTY

BOSTON (December 9, 2014) – On Monday night, One Beacon Street, Santander Bank N.A.’s flagship branch in Boston transformed into an art studio as local Bostonians grabbed their paint brushes for a special painting evening at Santander’s “Colorful Mondays.” The event was a part of a special complimentary painting evening series called “Colorful Mondays at Santander” which the bank launched this December in celebration of its sponsorship of the “Goya: Order and Disorder” exhibition at the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston (MFA) as a means to make art accessible to the community.

The two-hour lesson was guided by a professional artist who instructed participants on how to create their own interpretation of a piece of art from the MFA’s extensive collection. Participants were offered light refreshments as they indulged in their artistic sides and one guest was even surprised with a pair of tickets to the “Goya: Order and Disorder” exhibition at the MFA, courtesy of Santander.

To sign up for the last date in the “Colorful Mondays at Santander” event series on Monday December 15, 2014, guests should visit one of the following Santander branches in Boston to register in advance:

“We welcome aspiring artists and those who just want to learn how to paint to join us for a fun evening celebrating and creating art,” said Kathy Klingler, chief marketing officer at Santander. “We are delighted to give the community an opportunity to display their creativity and have fun at the same time. Colorful Mondays at Santander is a natural extension of our sponsorship of the Goya exhibition at the MFA and a great way to bring art and culture to the public.”

Dedicated to Spanish Master Francisco Goya (1746–1828), the “Goya: Order and Disorder” exhibition is the largest retrospective of Goya to take place in America in 25 years and is on view at the MFA until January 19, 201
