National Braille Press (NBP) is publishing braille programs for the world famous Rose Parade® during the Tournament of Roses® in Pasadena, California on New Year’s Day, January 1, 2016. The Tournament of Roses wanted to ensure that blind and visually impaired guests are included in the Rose Parade experience. The complimentary braille programs, coordinated by the Tournament of Roses Community Relations Committee, will be available at a viewing area reserved for the blind and visually impaired, one of three street-level viewing areas along the parade route reserved for people with disabilities and their guests.
“We are happy to provide the award winning Rose Parade braille program to our blind guests so that they may fully enjoy the parade experience while welcoming the New Year on January 1,” said Alex Young, Tournament of Roses Community Relations Committee Chair.

“The National Braille Press applauds the Tournament of Roses for their efforts to make the pageantry and splendor of the Rose Parade accessible to blind and visually impaired guests,” said Brian MacDonald, President of National Braille Press. “The braille programs will give descriptive information about the parade to the blind and visually impaired which will supremely enhance their Rose Parade experience.”
