North End Resident to Star in Homemade Fusion, Opening June 10 in JP
North End Resident, Nicholas Mann, discusses his upcoming theatrical project, Homemade Fusion: A Musical.

The Opposite of People (TOP) presents the Boston Premiere of Homemade Fusion opening June 10-12 at UFORGE Gallery in Jamaica Plain and touring to the StoveFactory Gallery in Charlestown June 16-18.
From the imaginations of Michael Kooman (music) and Christopher Dimond (lyrics), comes a series of musical snapshots that tell distinct stories - being true to oneself, misinterpreting signals, how we connect with others. At once dangerously cynical, desperately romantic, and alarmingly humorous - it is a tale of love, loss, and candy bars.
A production conceived to adapt to the venue and audience - TOP is partnering with two local art galleries to bring an intimate and interactive evening of theater. Audiences are invited to join in the fun early or stay late, mingle with the cast, and enjoy an open bar.

"Homemade Fusion is a very honest, raw, and comical reflection on life," explains Mann, "Each song is a story in and of itself, requiring the cast to convey an incredible amount of emotion and nuance in a single number. The music is beautiful, the vocal lines demanding. "
Mann performs the song "Lucy's Laugh" , a ballad in which he realizes he's fallen in love.
"You'll laugh, you'll cry, and experience all the feels in-between," he says of the show, "The cast will blow you away - everyone is insanely talented."
Mann's favorite past role is Cinderella's Prince/the Wolf from Into the Woods. "So much AGONY!" he jokes.
Outside of the theater, Mann enjoys learning to boat (he lives on one) and takes an interest in global economics, particularly the Venezuelan economic crisis.
The production is directed by Meghan Edge and music directed by David Wright.
The Opposite of People (TOP) is a newly established theater company that is dedicated to bringing accessible, unconventional theater and little known shows to the Boston-area community.
