The Santander Bank Foundation recently awarded Bridge Over Troubled Waters a $7,500 grant to support the organization’s GED to College Pathways Program. The program provides homeless and runaway youth with GED classes, learning disability diagnoses and instruction and one-on-one tutoring. Bridge Over Troubled Waters provides programs and services that transform the lives of runaway, homeless and high risk youth, many of them LGBT, to help them gain self-sufficiency. It was founded in 1970 and has served more than 100,000 youth since then. Michael Bruno, Santander region president for Northeastern New England, presented the check to Arlene Snyder, Director of Development at Bridge Over Troubled Waters, at Santander’s flagship branch at One Beacon Street in Boston. The Santander Bank Foundation seeks to enhance the quality of life for individuals by supporting local non-profit organizations in the communities it serves.
