SANTANDER RENEWS AND EXPANDS ITS COMMITMENT TO BOSTON UNIVERSITY
Santander Bank has renewed its commitment with BU for its Santander Universities division

Santander Bank, N.A. announced that it renewed its commitment with Boston University for its Santander Universities division to support the School of Public Health Practicum, in which students in the school travel internationally to conduct field research and fulfill their degree requirements.
The agreement now includes support for the new dedicated Kenya Field Practice Program, a Latin America Scholarship Fund and a scholarship fund reserved for low- and moderate-income students.
“Through international study and career development opportunities, Boston University is nurturing its students to become future global leaders,” said Roman Blanco, president and CEO of Santander US. “Like Boston University, we feel strongly that international study opportunities be available to all eligible students, which is why we are delighted to support these initiatives at Boston University.”

With this renewal, the relationship has been expanded to include the new Santander Sophomore Summer Internship Program, which will provided career development courses and internship opportunities for students. It also includes the creation of the Santander Boston University Faculty Engagement Seed Fund, which will help support various on-campus activities that will benefit the greater Boston University community.
“We are very pleased to renew and expand our relationship with Santander,” said Boston University President Dr. Robert A. Brown. “Santander has made a huge commitment to support education and international exchange. Over 130 students from the School of Public Health have served in international internships in places with great health care challenges. Because of Santander’s generosity we are continuing this program on an expanded scale. And with this renewal are also now launching a wonderful new undergraduate internship program. The bank is also supporting a variety of other smaller scale initiatives and activities. We are very grateful for our partnership with Santander.”
