Saturday! Winter in the Rainforest - Science Discovery Saturday (Free, Family Event)

Sometimes in the winter, it is fun to think of beautiful warm places far away. This winter come join “e” inc. for a few hours in the rainforest. Come hear the sounds and try out being a few of the famous rainforest animals. Create your very own field notebook and get ready to find animals throughout our rainforest display.

The staff of “e” inc. invite you to experience some of the wonderful animals and learn about some of the systems that have created these huge and special places. Can you race with a sloth? Open nuts like a handy chimpanzee?

The rainforests hold more biodiversity than anywhere else on our Earth. This Saturday you can find out why.

This event will be held Saturday December 6, December 13, and December 20, as well as, New Year’s Eve afternoon -- all take place from 12:00 to 4:00 PM. You can swing on in and have some fun. This is a free event.

So come drop by to get in from the cold, have some snacks donated by Whole Foods Market in Charlestown, and settle in with a monkey drawing activity or a scavenger hunt.

Winter in the Rainforest will be held at the headquarters of “e” inc. at 114 16th Street, Room 1030 (first right turn as soon as you enter the building) in the Charlestown Navy Yard (last right turn into the yard before the bridge over the channel) and is on the same block as Spaulding Rehab.

To get here by car: take 93 North till the Government center exit from the tunnel, stay right at the split toward the North End and then take the first left at the light. Two lights later, go right and stay on that street all the way over the Charlestown Bridge. Go right onto Chelsea Street and follow the Navy Yard wall till the last opening/turn. Building 114 is the first 3-story red brick building on the left.

Parking is available in the large garage on the left and under Spaulding. The latter also has a café.
Public transit is also available: Take the Orange or Green line trains to North Station. Come upstairs to Commercial Street (you will be across the street from the TD Garden) . A CVS is on that street. Wait at the corner and a Partners Shuttle will come by and take you right o our building (ask the drive to announce Building 114).
