World Famous Blind Adventurer Gives "Rock Climbing" Tips to 14 year old Blind Youth Being Honored by National Braille Press

World famous blind adventurer Erik Weihenmayer was at Central Rock gym in Watertown yesterday (Thursday) to give rock climbing tips to blind 14 year old Connor McLeod of Australia who is in Boston and was honored last night at the National Braille Press “A Million Laughs for Literacy” gala. Connor organized a national effort in Australia to force the government to change the way money is printed so that the blind can more easily identify currency. Erik is the only blind athlete to have scaled the world’s Seven Summits including Mount Everest. He is also a BC grad and is working on a project at MIT.
