• North Reading Fire Department Expanding With 4 New Firefighters (patch.com) — North Reading is adding four new firefighters thanks to nearly $1.6 million in combined federal and town funding, boosting staffing to eight firefighters per shift. Town officials say the hires complete a multi-year expansion plan and will help the department better meet national response-time and staffing standards, strengthening emergency coverage for residents across the community.
