The school department has made its large capital requests for FY '17.

The $365,000 request breaks down to:

1. Elementary WIFI Infrastructure $100,000
2. Computer Replacement Plan $60,000

3. Utility Vehicle -Bobcat $65,000
4. Wheelchair Van $45,000
5. Hood School Parking Lot (Phase 2) $50,000
6. Multi-Function Activity Bus $ 45,000
According to school officials, the money for the elementary wifi infrastructure is needed because the current elementary wireless solution is piecemeal. The request will also align elementary schools with the new middle school and high school.
The presentation also includes information on grant funding that is available for the schools for the technology upgrades.
