Wilmington Target to Soon Sell Alcohol

Selectmen approved an all-alcohol license transfer at Monday night's meeting.

Looks like the new Wilmington Target will soon have a new offering - liquor.

Monday night, Wilmington’s Board of Selectmen unanimously approved a liquor license transfer granting the all-alcohol license from Tuckers Liquors to the new Target on Ballardvale Street, making the Wilmington location the first Target in the state to sell alcohol.

Tuckers Liquors, located at 335 Main St. has had its license since 2012 when selectmen approved the transfer of the license of the former Main Street Liquors.

While the date hasn’t been determined to when wine, liquor and beer sales will begin at the Wilmington Target, on social media the company said Tuesday they are looking forward to being the first Target in Massachusetts to sell alcohol.

Target will be carrying dozens of brands exclusive to the retailer, including those from vineyards and breweries that are produced in limited runs, Wilmington Apple is reporting.

Target opened its doors in Wilmington last fall.
