Coronavirus: Norton Examines Public Meeting Contingencies
Norton asking residents to watch public meetings on livestream or tape delay, looking at ways to facilitate remote participation.
NORTON, MA β Norton town officials are asking residents to refrain from attending public meetings β instead watch them via livestream or tape delay β amid the coronavirus pandemic. Town officials said they are investigated the best options available to allow remote participation in public meetings.
Norton town officials said that as of Sunday there were no known positive tests for coronavirus in the town.
"We are issuing these requests as a proactive step to minimize the risk of COVID-19 to employees and residents," Norton officials said. "The Norton Health Department remains in daily communication with the Massachusetts."

Norton residents are asked to limit visits town hall and to conduct town business online, through email or over the phone whenever possible. There is a drop box at the front offices for those who cannot make payments online. Those who are sick are asked to stay away from town hall entirely. Those who have to sign anything at town hall are asked to bring their own pen.
"Our primary concern is the health and safety of our community and employees," Officials said. "We encourage you to check on your neighbors who may need assistance, especially those who may be of increased risk. We appreciate everyone's patience and cooperation. Norton is a strong community, and together we will endure this crisis."
