DUI Checkpoint In Bristol County Memorial Day Weekend
Massachusetts State Police will hold a DUI checkpoint somewhere in Bristol County on Friday, May 26, 2017.

State Police will conduct a drunk driving checkpoint in Bristol County Memorial Day weekend. The roadblock will be held the night of Friday, May 26. It will stretch into the early morning hours of the following day.
Per usual state police policy, the exact location or time frame of the checkpoint were not divulged.

βThe purpose is to further educate the motoring public and strengthen the publicβs awareness to the need of detecting and removing those motorists who operate under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs from our roadways,β State police Col. Richard McKeon said in a statement. βIt will be operated during varied hours, the selection of vehicles will not be arbitrary, safety will be assured, and any inconveniences to motorists will be minimized with advance notice to reduce fear and anxiety.β
The effort is funded with a state grant.
