Norton Youths in Un-Common Production of 'Willy Wonka'

Shows run this weekend.

The Un-Common Theatre Company at the Orpheum Theatre, Foxborough is presenting a family production of Roald Dahl’s β€œWilly Wonka” this weekend. Β

With a cast of 55 local actors, including Norton’s Elizabeth Riley (Cook/Ensemble) and Abby Sitte (Violet Beauregarde), Un-Common Theatre brings this delicious tale to life on stage. The adventure explores Roald Dahl’s story of the world-famous Candy Man and his quest to find an heir. Β Willy Wonka stages a contest by hiding five golden tickets in five of his scrumptious candy bars. Β Whoever comes up with these tickets will win a free tour of the Wonka factory, as well as a lifetime supply of candy. Four of the five winning children are insufferable brats: the fifth is a likeable young lad named Charlie Bucket who takes the tour in the company of his equally amiable grandfather. The children must learn to follow Mr. Wonka's rules in the factory – or suffer the consequences.

This show features the songs from the timeless family film β€œWilly Wonka and the Chocolate Factory” including β€œThe Candy Man,” β€œPure Imagination,” β€œI Want it Now!” and β€œI’ve got a Golden Ticket.”

Tickets are available for Friday, Nov. 16, 7:30 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 17, 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, Nov. 18, 2 p.m. shows.
