Norwood Crash: 2 Victims In Head-On Collision Identified

Norwood Police have released the names of the two people who died early Wednesday morning.

NORWOOD, MA — Two people were killed and two others were seriously injured in a head-on crash on Walpole Street in Norwood Wednesday morning, police said. A 20-year-old and 22-year-old from Norwood died in the crash.

The crash occurred around 1:18 a.m. in front of 341 Walpole St. Police said two vehicles had suffered extensive front-end damage: a 2011 Toyota Camry carrying three people and a 2011 Dodge Ram with just the driver.

The driver of the Camry, 20-year-old Victoria Cody, was pronounced dead at the scene. The front passenger, 22-year-old Alex Pandolfo, was transported to Norwood Hospital, where she was pronounced dead. Another passenger was taken to Brigham and Women's Hospital with serious injuries. Two of the Camry passengers needed to be extracted through mechanical means.

The driver of the Ram was found lying on the side of the road. He was transported to Norwood Hospital with a leg injury.

The crash is under investigation by Norwood Police, State Police, and the Norfolk County District Attorney's office.
