2 Warnings, 1 Suspension For Failed Compliance Checks
The violations were the result of a September compliance check.

NORWOOD, MA — Three more businesses appeared in front of the selectmen Tuesday for selling alcohol to an underage operative.
Tuesday night, the Norwood Board of Selectmen issued written warnings to Shamrock Pub on Railroad Avenue and the Hampton Inn on Route 1. Acapulco’s Mexican Family Restaurant on Route 1 was issued a one-day liquor license suspension. All three failed a Sept. 7 liquor license compliance check by the Norwood Police Department.
In all three cases, the violation was the same - allowing an underage person to buy alcohol. In the sting, an underage operative walked into the restaurant or store and asked to buy a drink. In those three cases, the operative was able to successfully purchase a beverage.

Selectman Paul Bishop said the failed check should be used as a learning experience moving forward.
The board chose to go with a written warning because the businesses had no violations from the past 10 years. Unlike the other businesses, Acapulco’s Mexican Family Restaurant was given a suspension because they had previous violations in the past decades. The suspension will be served Nov. 30.
One more establishments that failed the check is scheduled to go in front of the board on later dates. Previously, Norwood Wines and Liquor on Nahatan Street, Hibachi Steak House on Morse Street, Outback Steakhouse on Route 1, Napper Tandy's on Day Street and Lewis Restaurant & Grille on Central Street received warnings.
