Adams Town Administrator Named New Norwood General Manager

Tuesday night, the selectmen unanimously selected Adams Town Administrator Tony Mazzucco as the town's next GM.

NORWOOD, MA — Norwood’s next general manager will have to make a big move from Western Massachusetts.

Tuesday night, the selectmen unanimously selected Adams Town Administrator Tony Mazzucco as Norwood's next GM. The selection is pending Mazzucco accepting a contract offer from the town.

Board members praised Mazzucco as a young candidate who they hope will immerse himself in the town when he arrives.

“I think this could be a nice breath of fresh air. I know every time I talk to him I feel younger and enthused myself. I hope that carries into the community because we’ll be in a very good place,” Selectmen Chairman William Plasko said.

Selectman Helen Abdallah Donohue said she hopes the board can emphasize that they want Mazzucco to say in town for a long time.

Mazzucco has been the town administrator for Adams since 2014. He was previously the assistant city manager for Caribou, Maine. He will succeed John Carroll, who has spent nearly four decades as the Norwood GM.

Mazzucco was one of two finalists interviewed for the position. The other two were Natick Deputy Town Administrator William Chenard and Norfolk Town Administrator Jack Hathaway.
