Agenda for the Board of Selectmen, June 28

Highlights from the selectmen's agenda tonight.

The Norwood Board of Selectmen will meet tonight at 7:00 p.m. in room 34 of Town Hall. Here are the highlights from issues on tonight's agenda:

  • The departments of Public Works and Light and Broadband will be submitting the monthly reports of their activity to the Board.
  • Chief Michael J. Howard of the NFD will be submitting a request under the Municipal Relief Act for a transfer of $9,000 into three accounts for fiscal year 2011.
  • Police Chief Bartley E. King will be submitting a letter of resignation of Mary Jones from the Dept.’s Bureau of Criminal Investigations for the past 24 years effective July 8. The Chief would also like a citation in appreciation of long and devoted service to the town for Jones.
  • Chief King will also be submitting a request to accept under MGL Chap. 44, Sec. 53A a check in the amount of $300 from the D.A. toward purchase of a safe depository for prescription drugs which are being discarded.
  • Bernard McCourt, District Highway Director of the Mass. Dept. of Transportation will be submitting notification of a delay in the start date for herbicide applications along the highways. Work is scheduled to commence on July 18, 2011 and conclude on August 19.
