A look at what will be facing our town selectmen this evening.

The Norwood Board of Selectmen will meet tonight at 7 p.m. in room 34 of Town Hall. Here are the highlights from issues on tonight's agenda:

  • The departments of Public Works and Light and Broadband will be presenting their monthly reports to the board at the start of the meeting.
  • Sherrie McGowan, from Mrs. Cormier’s international issues class at Norwood High School will be submitting communication/editorial on the possibility of building new skate park behind the police station for teenagers with suggestion that the board vote to consider it.
  • Town Counsel members will be submitting two decisions concerning an Open Meeting Law Complaint regarding lack of specific detail in meeting notice and failure to conduct a roll call vote of its members and failure to appropriately state the purpose for executive session.
  • Suzy Omo & Jill Cavanaugh, from the Government Issues Class at Norwood High School will be presenting to the board on the subject of over-building and under-conserving in the town. There should be conservation of land, trees and more open space. No more mini-mansions or apartment complexes for a transient population.
