Nepali community prays for devastated homeland at Everett vigil (bostonglobe.com) — A Norwood resident, 28-year-old Aloonee Adhikari, joined more than 100 people at an Everett vigil supporting Nepal after deadly flash floods near the Nepal-China border. Local Nepali community members shared stories of missing loved ones and urged donations of money and basic supplies, emphasizing that even small contributions can help relief and rebuilding efforts overseas.
   

• Brazilian Illegal alien, Convicted Murderer, Wanted For Multiple Crimes Arrested in Massachusetts After Police Chase (newbedfordguide.com) — Federal immigration officers arrested a Brazilian man in Norwood after a brief vehicle and foot chase that began near 6 Tremont Street, where two parked cars were struck but no one was hurt. ICE says he has prior U.S. driving offenses and a serious conviction in Brazil, and he remains in federal custody pending removal proceedings. The agency used the case to criticize sanctuary-style policies.
