Boston Higashi School Visited By Teamsters Local 25

Norwood student and classmates experience HUGE 18-wheeler on campus in Randolph

July 30, 2018 - Teamsters Local 25 President Sean M. O’Brien drove an 18-wheel truck onto the campus of The Boston Higashi School in Randolph and spent the day with students at this leading education center for children and adults with Autism. Teamsters Local 25 is a proud supporter of the Boston Higashi School and its mission to help children and young adults with Autism Spectrum Disorder learn to reach their full potential. Teamsters Local 25 treated the students to tours and joined them in the classroom and during exercise activities. Each year, Teamsters Local 25 donates time and money to the Boston Higashi School. The Higashi School as a beneficiary of Teamsters Local 25 Gala for Autism and Teamsters Local 25 has provided a $75,000 grant to the Higashi School this year. At its 2018 gala, Local 25 also presented the Essential Puzzle Piece Award to the Higashi School. The Boston Higashi School employs a unique Daily Life Therapy educational program based on three fundamental pillars: physical stamina building, emotional stability, and intellectual stimulation. Teamsters Local 25, and its membership of more than 12,000 men and women, believe the community as a whole is an integral piece of the puzzle in taking us one step further towards finding a cure for Autism.
