5 Easy Ways to Conserve Water and Money
Brian Kearney, CEO of Neponset Valley Construction, shares tips to save water and money this Spring.
With Spring comes the need for most consumers to use more water, whether it is for their landscaping or the family pool. My customers often ask me how they can conserve water within their household and it’s a relatively easy question to answer because there are many tips and tricks that save consumers water with little to no upfront cost.
1.) Check faucets and pipes for leaks; even a small drip can waste up to 20 gallons of water each day.
2.) Don't use the toilet as an alternative to the trash can because flushing a facial tissue can waste as much as seven gallons of water.

3.) Change your showerheads. Low-flow showerheads are inexpensive and limit water usage to 2.5 gallons per minute.
4.) Check your faucets to make sure each is equipped with aerators; they make a huge difference and are extremely inexpensive.

5.) Assess your sprinkler system. Make sure you water your grass early in the morning or later in the evening in order to cut down evaporation. Strategically place your sprinklers and avoid wasting water on the sides of your home, driveway, or sidewalk.
Being conscious of water usage in your home is not only extremely helpful for the environment; it will also save you money.
