BLOG: Nickel and Dimed by Norwood in 2013

Norwood charges unannounced fee for online bill payment.

In case you haven't paid your town bills online yet in 2013, the town now charges - get this - 25 cents to make the payment - it is outrageous to think that for every 4000 bills processed through their vendor, the town will gross $100. One hundred dollars when Norwood Light have over $70 million dollars in the bank.

It goes to show you that this town is far from interested in you and your finances, no matter how small they are - the ineptness of Norwood's electronic media driven service offerings is legendary (just try to navigate the town's website).

Of course the town imposes this fee with no fanfare, and let me spare them the excuse, this fee is imposed by our vendor and we simply cannot absorb the costs, therefore must pass this minimal fee on to our customers, you know the ones who OWN us. Oh, and by the way, they don't take American Express, you know - because they charge "too much."
