How Well Do You Adapt?
Do you know how well your body is adapting to the environment? It's a matter of life and death!
Have you ever thought about the difference between something living and something dead? What changes the moment that we, or our pet or a tree stops living? Structurally, there is no difference between you and a corpse...two eyes, two lungs, a heart, ten fingers, etc.
Scientists know that one of the things that distinguishes something that is alive from something that isn't, is its ability to adapt to its environment. A rock doesn't adapt. Nor does a fence post. But we do as long as we’re alive.
We generally take it for granted, but moving out of the path of an approaching vehicle, perspiring when it's hot, or squinting in the bright sun are all adaptations. These and the many other ways we adapt to our environment are governed by the integrity of our nervous systems – which is my focus in Chiropractic care.

While many seek out Chiropractic care for neck and back pain relief, my interest in the spine is because it's the most vulnerable part of your nervous system. The primary purpose of the spine is to protect the delicate spinal cord and nerve roots, so that the brain can communicate with the body. Nerve flow disturbance along your spine can wreak havoc with your ability to adapt, accommodate and respond to your environment. Poor communication between the brain and your body will lead to dis-ease and outright diseases, not to mention aches and pains. Health is a continuum ranging from total health to death, and where you fall on that line depends on your ability to adapt.
When Chiropractic helps alleviate someone’s ache or pain, I’m delighted. Sometimes less obvious, but far more important, is Chiropractic’s ability to help you adapt and optimally perform mentally, physically and socially...which is the true definition of being healthy!
