Through the Lens of The Five-Year-Old, Part 4: The Bunny at Petruzziello Plaza
This week on Through the Lens, The Five-Year-Old looks for a bunny in the clouds.
The fourth entry in The Five-Year-Old's ongoing Photo Documentary series about the Dedham Shines Public Art Project.
This week on Through the Lens, The Five-Year-Old visits Bunny in the Clouds, by Gary Koeppel. Local readers can find the bunny at Petruzziello Plaza, on the corner of Washington and Bryant Street.
A resident of Roslindale, Koeppel normally paints landscapes in oil. But he switched mediums to paint a gigantic fiberglass bunny in acrylics - just this once - as a way to get his work out in front of more people.

The installation of this particular bunny is brilliant. The bunny is set in the midst of a landscaped garden, which perfectly sets off Koeppel's delicately painted lilies, grass, and butterflies.
To my (and The Five-Year-Old's) disappointment, Koeppel's show at the Muddy River Gallery in Brookline has already closed. But I hear there are a couple of utility boxes on Center Street in West Roxbury which boast his artwork. And that there may be some landscapes available for viewing at the Dedham Square Art Guild. Sounds like another field trip may be in order.

Be sure to tune in next week, when The Five-Year-Old visits Ace the White Rabbit at the Endicott Library.
