Heavy smoke and flames were emitting out of the roof of the Endicott Street building, Necn reported.

The fire has caused the roof of the building to fully collapse.

No one was injured in the fire despite the roof falling on top of a lot of materials inside the building, officials said.

Fire officials say the fire is under control despite many weather-related complications.

It was difficult for the fire department to access the building due to large piles of snow and snow-covered cars blocking the building.

“It’s not the ideal weather to fight fires,” Lieutenant George Morrice said to Patch.

Firefighters are implementing a “surround and drown effort” to extinguish the fire, Morrice said.

The Norwood Fire Department received help from multiple fire departments from towns including Walpole, Westwood and Sharon in addition to help at the station from Canton Stoughton and Wrentham.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.

As 2:20 p.m. Thursday, Norwood fire officials told Patch the fire has been going on for at least two hours and responders are still battling the fire.

“It’s still pretty fluid,” a Norwood Fire official said to Patch.
