The Norwood Public Schools’ Fine Arts Department will be hosting its 27th Annual Fine Arts Festival on Friday, May 1 from 4-8pm at Norwood High School in the gymnasium and auditorium.  The festival is a celebration of the award winning Norwood Public Schools Fine Arts program.  The public is invited to view the visual arts displays and student television exhibits as well as enjoy performances by NPS music ensembles and the NHS Drama Troupe. In addition, the Fine Art  booster groups will be selling items to support the Arts in the Norwood Public Schools. This festival is free and will be located at Norwood High School, 245 Nichols Street, Norwood, MA in the gymnasium and auditorium.

Morrill Memorial Library

On Tuesday, April 21 at 7:00pm the Morrill Memorial Library's 2025 
Artist-in-Residence, award-winning storyteller Motoko Dworkin, will 
present "Tales of Now and Zen" in the Simoni Room.
The Library's 2025 Artist-in-Residence, Motoko Dworkin, will 
captivate audience members as she exquisitely blends ancient lore and 
original tales with traditional music and eloquent physical 
characterization. Her tales are at once comical and wise, earthly and 
sublime. Through her tales, we journey beyond our imagination and return
 more whole.
Tales of Now and Zen is a travel itinerary to places as strange and 
exotic as ancient China and the interior of our own heart. Motoko brings
 us to long ago and far away, then leads us back to ourselves in this 
moment, as each of her characters reveal their intentions and desires. 
We learn why a grandmother is strong, why a child is wise, why a warrior
 is frightened. It is an excursion like no other!
About the artist: A native of Osaka, Japan, and the 
recipient of the 2017 National Storytelling Network's Circle of 
Excellence Award, Motoko Dworkin has performed Asian folktales and 
original stories since 1993 in schools, libraries, colleges, and 
festivals across the U.S., as well as in China, Japan, Senegal, and the 
U.A.E. She has appeared on PBS' Mr. Rogers' Neighborhood, and 
her story recordings won a Parents' Choice Silver Honor Award, a 
Storytelling World Award, and a National Parenting Publications

This program is funded by a grant from the Norwood Cultural 
Council, a local agency which is supported by the Mass Cultural Council,
 a state agency.
