Norwood police said the 3-year-old boy's grandmother was watching him but left to pick up another child when the boy fell asleep.

NORWOOD, MA — A 3-year-old boy fell out the third story window of a home on Tuesday afternoon, according to police. Around 3 p.m., police were called to the corner of Washington and Dean streets and found the boy on the pavement.

Paramedics rushed the child to Boston Children's Hospital, while a Norwood police officer drove the boy's mother to the hospital. Police said the boy didn't break any bones, but he did suffer some lacerations.

According to police, the fall happened when the boy's grandmother left to pick up one of the other children. The boy's grandmother told police she was watching the boy and left after he fell asleep. The boy woke up and fell out the window before the grandmother got back, according to police.
