Crashes Result in OUI Arrest, Distracted Driving Charge

NORWOOD, MA — Multiple car crashes meant a busy Saturday night for police and firefighters in Norwood.

The Norwood Police Department said Sunday morning that they responded to five crashes between 4 p.m. and midnight Saturday, including two three-car crashes.

The most notable was a five-car crash on Walpole Street that resulted in four people being taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries, according to Norwood fire. Another crash resulted in an OUI arrest, Norwood Police said.

Neponset Street by the rotary and Walpole Street by Olde Derby Village saw detours greater than a half hour, police said.

More information is expected when Norwood police releases their police log from the weekend.
