Driver Charged with Driving Away From Crash, OUI

NORWOOD, MA — A driver is facing charges following an early Sunday morning crash, police said.

At about 1 a.m., Norwood police received multiple calls reporting a car crash on Winslow Avenue. Responding officers found a damaged vehicle and a pole that appeared to have been struck. Following an investigation, police arrested the driver. The person will be charged with operating under the influence of liquor, negligent operation of a motor vehicle, and leaving the scene of property damage.

Police have not released the name of the person arrested.

Traffic in the area will be disrupted over the next few days while Norwood Light Department makes necessary repairs, police said.
